Geoffrey Chaucer now has a nice bronze statue in Canterbury. It is new, it was erected in 2016. Chaucer was a master of satire and wrote The Canterbury Tales, a milestone in English literature. Foremost English poet of the Middle Ages, Chaucer is quite as important as Shakespeare in English Literature.
Nobody actually knows what Chaucer looked like, of course, so this is an artistic representation based upon depictions made many years after his death.
